Telehealth Services Notice
Stability Behavioral Health provides counseling, therapy, and peer support services through secure telehealth. This notice explains how telehealth works, its benefits and risks, and what you can expect when receiving care through our virtual services.
What Telehealth Is
Telehealth allows you to connect with a licensed therapist or certified peer specialist using secure video or phone. Sessions are confidential and follow the same professional standards as in-person care.
How Telehealth Works
We use HIPAA-compliant, encrypted platforms to protect your privacy. Sessions are scheduled just like office visits, but take place from the comfort of your home or another private location. You will need a reliable internet connection or phone line and a quiet, confidential space for your appointment. If technology issues occur, we will attempt to reconnect or continue the session by phone.
Benefits of Telehealth
Telehealth makes it easier to access care by removing barriers like travel, scheduling conflicts, or location limits. Many clients find that meeting virtually is more comfortable and convenient, while still receiving the same level of professional support.
Risks and Limitations
While telehealth is effective for most clients, there are some limitations. Technical issues may interrupt a session, and although we use strong security measures, there is always a small risk of unauthorized access. Telehealth may not be appropriate in emergency situations or for all types of care.
Confidentiality and Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Telehealth services follow the same HIPAA rules as in-person care. Your information will never be sold or shared with third parties for marketing purposes. Information is only shared when required by law, or when necessary to protect your safety or the safety of others.
Emergencies
Telehealth is not designed for crisis intervention. If you are experiencing an emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department right away. Your provider may confirm your physical location at the beginning of a session in case emergency services are needed.
